The Australian Arab Cultural Forum invites you to the Casula Powerhouse this Saturday to celebrate the Autumn Harmony Arabic Festival, a hands-on cultural experience starting at 11am.
Visitors can start the day by learning how to make Manoosh (and eating it!), before a number of speeches and poetry readings by local authors.
There’ll also be an Abaya show, featuring the a wide range of traditional garb, and a Lebanese Dabke (dance) demonstration by the Cedars of Lebanon Folkloric Group.
After the dancing visitors can hear Arabic Traditional Songs from Bashar Hanna, learn how to play the Oud and then learn how to write the cuneiform alphabet in clay with Artist Hedar Abadi.
The event is free, but you can register your interest in attending online. Guests are invited to come in traditional dress to the event. See the full schedule below.
