After being out of service for the best part of a year, the historic Cobbitty Bridge is finally set to re-open to traffic on Monday, February 27.

The bridge sustained significant damage after repeated heavy rainfall between March and June last year, with one lane almost entirely collapsing in a landslip, creating serious concerns about the structure's ongoing viability.

After regular evaluation and a tender process, repairs began in late October 2022, with frequent testing being undertaken throughout the construction process and the riverbank also being fully redeveloped.
