The Cooee Festival returns to Western Sydney in 2023, taking place at Mt Druitt Town Centre Reserve on April 15, from 10am.

The festival was started by Link-Up (NSW) - an Aboriginal Corporation establisehd in 1980 to assist Aboriginal people who had been directly affected by past government policies, including forced removal and being fostered, adopted or raised in institutions.

The festival promotes and celebrates Aboriginal Australia's resilience as the longest-surviving culture in the world, giving Indigenous Australians the opportunity to share and educate about culture through corroborees, ceremonies and more - and everyone is welcome, with entry totally free.

There will also be plenty of the usual festival fare around the site, including market stalls, food trucks, art exhibits and a kids world.

The main stage will play host to a number of famous musicians and entertainers throughout the day, including Dan Sultan, Christine Anu and 'The Koori King of Country', Roger Knox + many more.

For more information about the event, or to simply purchase some of the eye-catching merchandise, head to cooeensw.org.au or @cooeefestival on Instagram.
