The heritage-listed and excellently preserved Parramatta Gaol will host a unique screening of a cinema classic this Saturday, March 11, celebrating the 50th anniversary of iconic horror film 'The Exorcist' with a unique one-off showing of the movie within the grounds of the infamously 'haunted' prison.
A well-known location for regular ghost tours, the gaol has a rich and tortured history of its own, and the first two hours of the event will give guests a rare opportunity to explore the historic building's morgue, cell blocks and showers before watching the film under the stars in the prison yard.
There will also be a bar serving food and drink options, a live DJ and photo booth - but guests are permitted to bring their own picnics for the movie.
An iconic piece of cinema, the film tells the story of a young girl possessed by a demon, her desperate mother's struggle to save her and the two priests who are brought in to conduct the exorcism.
The event is held in conjunction with the Deerubbin Local Aboriginal Land Council, who manage the historic site, and presented by Haus Of Horror.
