Loud and Clear: Western Sydney rejects Voice referendum, vote defeated nationally
Penrith has led the way, with a higher percentage of no voters than anywhere in Greater Sydney.

After weeks of campaigning that felt like an eternity, Australia has voted on The Voice referendum, unanimously denying the proposal.
In the end the No vote received over 60% of the national total and defeated the Yes vote in every state and territory but for the ACT.
In Western Sydney it was no different, with all electorates voting No by varying degrees. Though there is still counting to be done, the consensus is already clear.
Notably, despite the public support for the Yes vote offered by NRL Grand Final hero Nathan Cleary, Penrith recorded the lowest level of support for the Yes vote in the Greater Sydney region, with nearly 70% of residents voting No.
Though the Yes vote failed to gain a majority in any Western Sydney territory, Parramatta came the closest to challenging the norm, with 45% of residents supporting the proposal.
