Mounties nab big upset win over premiers; NSWRL Wrap

Despite their struggles so far in the 2023 campaign, Mounties have reminded the competition of how damaging they can be with a huge win over the defending premiers, led by a 20-point haul to centre Roman Ioelu (pictured).
Glebe have jumped into third place thanks to a convincing win over Brothers. Five-eighth Riley Travers scored a quick-fire double while halfback Devon Makoare-Boyce kicked a perfect seven from seven. They were also helped by Wentworthville's narrow win over Ryde-Eastwood in the clash of the high flyers.
In the other game of the round, the unbeaten Saints continued their streak with a 10-point win over a valiant Bulldogs side.
The Saints had an easier time against Moorebank in the Sydney Shield, racking up a half century to further cement top place on the ladder.
The clash between Mounties and Hills was a much closer affair in Shield, with the boot of Kaylib Savage proving the difference in a two-point win. The Mulga win also did Penrith Brothers a favour, helping them leap-frog Hills and move into second place after their win over Glebe.
