Beloved Portuguese-style charcoal chicken eatery Frango is setting its sights on further expansion, with news that plans have been approved for the newest store to occupy a location on Woodville Road in Fairfield.

The location has had many past lives including a service station, drive-thru pizza restaurant and a car yard, but given their level of renown across Sydney there's a high level of confidence that the new store is a solid long-term option.

Started by Jose and Ana Fernandes and their son Luis in Petersham over 30 years ago, the brand has grown across Sydney, with eight locations including Penrith, Smithfield and the newest store in Edmondson Park.

The new store will offer both dine-in and drive-thru services seven days a week once it arrives, though no opening date has currently been set.
