The Ryde-Eastwood Hawks are still alive in the Ron Massey Cup finals after eliminating the defending premiers Hills Bulls in a see-sawing affair at St Marys Leagues Stadium.

The Hawks were dominant in the first half and looked to have wrapped up the contest within 40 minutes, taking a 26-0 lead into the break. But the Bulls weren't done, fighting back with three tries in under 20 minutes to ensure a tight finish before the Hawks ultimately prevailed.

Ryde-Eastwood are also through in the Sydney Shield finals after a more closely contested duel with Cabramatta.

Meanwhile the Bulls were dealt a double blow, losing to Brothers in the Shield Qualifying Final, which means they'll now face the Hawks in the must-win next round of the Shield finals.

In clash between second and third it was Wentworthville who emerged victorious in convincing fashion over a lacklustre Glebe outfit, setting the tone early with two tries in the opening 10 minutes and a strong defensive effort. The Magpies will now face undefeated minor premiers St Marys, while the Hawks will take on Glebe for the right to extend their season another week.
