The St Marys Saints are showing no signs of slowing down in the 2023 Ron Massey Cup, hammering the Hills Bulls thanks to doubles to winger Jake Tago and five-eighth Todd Sapienza.
Wentworthville earned a hard-earned two points against Mounties while the Silktails heaped more misery on the Bulldogs, but the big upset of the round came from Brothers' stunning win over Ryde-Eastwood. Star prop Richard Holani made the most of his starting opportunity with an incredible four-try effort, while Ryan Garner kicked a perfect seven from seven to overcome their highly-fancied opponent.
In the Shield it was a similar affair for the Saints and Brothers, while Mounties secured an important win over Wenty.But the match of the round was the thrilling contest between Cabramatta and Moorebank, with a field goal from halfback Joel Saldaneri proving the difference as the sides looked destined for a 24-all draw.
Next week St Marys and Brothers will face off in both competitions, in what promises to be a fiery local derby.
