The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe storm warning for the east coast - including Sydney - on Good Friday, with supercells expected to impact travel over the long weekend.
The Bureau has labelled the the incoming weather 'extremely volatile', with the widespread downpour expected to contain 'large-to-giant hail' that could cause significant damage to vehicles and property.
On top of the storm and hail, 'damaging to destructive' winds are also predicted, with the Bureau anticipating 'well-below average' temperatures and even snowfall in alpine areas as a result.
Though the forecast for the rest of the long weekend is far less volatile in Sydney, the nature of the warning means things could turn quickly - so exercise caution if you're hitting the roads this Easter long weekend.
