Australian chip-makers Smiths have issued a recall notice for a number of items amid fears that they may contain pieces of loose plastic that could cause injury or illness if ingested.

The affected items have been distributed for sale across the country, including major supermarket chains, with Cheese & Onion and Original flavours recalled.

Packets of Original flavour sold in the popular 20-pack 'Fun Mix' were also listed.

The affected products are:

  • Cheese & Onion flavour (45 and 170g) with a Best before    date of September 17, 2023. Timestamped between 20:28 and 22:28.
  • Original 6 pack and Original 19g in the 20-pack Fun Mix.   Best Before September 10, 2023.

Those who find the contaminated packets are asked to contact Smiths on 1800 025 789 or online.
