Western Sydney International Airport has released the plans for Stage One of their next development, a state of the art business precinct that is 'set to become the premier development in the region'.
The plans currently include a 10-storey hotel with 150 rooms, a conference facility and 25,000 square metres of warehouse and office space, which is expected to create hundreds of local jobs during construction and beyond.
The park isn't just intended to serve customers and travellers once the airport opens - it's planned to open prior to Western Sydney Airport commencing operations, providing businesses with the opportunity to firmly establish themselves with thousands of workers expected to benefit from the development as construction and development continues.
“While the airport and the connections to it are being built, there are thousands of workers across the runway, terminal, civil works, metro and M12 construction sites and they will be the first to use this precinct which will adapt to meet the needs of airport customers,” WSI CEO Simon Hickey told the Daily Telegraph.
The Business Park will support a wide range of industries and services, including warehouse and distribution centres, food production and processing, freight transport, building and landscape supplies, retail premises, Service Stations, Commercial Offices and many others.
The Airport is also working with NBNCo to deliver a high-tech hub for the park, which will also feature an extensive road network designed to facilitate movement by B-Doubles and freight vehicles. Plans are on display at multiple locations in Western Sydney.
The development is open for public comment until July 13.
