One of the oldest and most beloved venues in the West and a newer, state-of-the-art facility in a fast-growing area have both been recognised for their efforts at the Australian Hotels Association’s Annual Awards for Excellence.
The historic Log Cabin in Penrith, which has been around nearly 200 years but only recently re-opened after a decade of closure, was awarded Metropolitan Hotel of the Year.
Meanwhile the much newer Marsden Brewhouse, which opened in Marsden Park back in 2019, took home the ‘Best Family Friendly’ award.
But those weren’t the only venues west of the CBD to be recognised for their efforts, with a number of venues claiming wins or commendations in a wide range of categories including casual dining, gaming, wine lists and even disability access and inclusion.
There were also a number of commendations awarded, with Rouse Hill's 'The Fiddler' recognised as one of greater Sydneyu's best Night Life venues, continuing to dispel a once questionable reputation.
